Japanese American singer-dancer Betty Inada stars in Japan’s first jazz musical as an American performer who arrives in Japan for a tour, only to be swindled by scheming managers. Screening for the first time with English subtitles, this rare 1936 film showcases some of the top performers in pre-war Japanese jazz.
